A pal tells me:
>The latest Nova Express [a science fiction critical zine of some status,
>edited by Lawrence Person] is out and has many interesting snippets,
>including lots of Lists, many of which accord extravagant praise to Egan...
>On Egan, David Pringle [UK author of SF: THE 100 BEST BOOKS] lists
>the 10 most important sf writers of all time, or some such thing: (1) HG
>Wells; (2) JG Ballard; (3) Greg Egan ... followed by less notable so and
>so's such as Heinlein, etc.
This is gratifying. I still get the impression that Egan isn't *selling*
hugely, since his work is so hard-edged and demanding (and, admittedly,
rather `cold'), but at least his critical reputation continues to gather
momentum.
