To find out the sort of courses you'd want to take to prepare yourself for
quantum mechanics etc. try doing a search of "quantum mechanics
prerequisite" etc. Here's a paper describing reasons students have problems
learning qm which sheds some light on the sorts of learning habits you
might want to work at and the sorts of course work you might want to do:

At a very minimum you'll need calculus, differential equations, and linear
algebra, but I would also suggest real and complex analysis as important
for a basic foundation.
