I get it now. How silly of me, I keep falling back into thinking that `land
of the free' actually means what it says.

(And yes, I'm sure there aren't a whole bunch of famous Australian
aboriginal golfers either, for vaguely similar reasons, although many of
our golf courses, as I recall only too well from tediously caddying for my
house painter grandfather as a kid, are open to all manner of riffraff,
most of whom, like Granny, seem especially eager to get off the turf and
quench their thirsts at the 19th hole and shoot the breeze with their old
chums and foes...)
