I sent this in to the Chicago Suntimes, it was published in today's
paper.
We have hundreds of state of the art voting machines located year
round in every neighborhood here in Illinois, all hooked to a state
of the art network. Only we don't currently call them "Voting
Machines" we call them "Lottery Machines".
And the big advantage is that the poor and the elderly know EXACTLY
how to mark the "ballot".
We could even save a portion of the yearly lotto earnings and have
a big "Vote! you could win a million dollars!" campaign. That
should assure high voter turnout.
A simple software change should do it.
