Anything with a long "i" sound, e.g.:
mind -> miind
bite -> biit
live -> liiv, not to be confused with "liv", now spelled the same
Unfortunately, there are lots of words spelled with doubled vowels that
don't use the long sound (book, hoot), so completely regular spelling
wouldn't be easy to achieve. Wouldn't it be worth it, though? How much
effort and memory is wasted on memorizing the spelling of irregular words?
