Actually it was even worse than that, in 1897 the Indiana house of
representatives unanimously passed a bill (#246) that would change the value
of PI from 3.14159... to, no not 3 or even 4, but believe it or not, change it to 16
divided by the cube root of 3 or 9.2376...! The bill was defeated in the state
senate by one vote, good thing too because not only is it wrong it's blasphemous,
according to the Bible Pi is exactly equal to 3.
In 1 Kings chapter 23 and again in 2 Chronicles chapter 4 it says.
"Also, he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in
compass, and five cubits the height thereof; and a line of thirty cubits
did compass it round about."
