Question: What is the theoretical minimum yield you could get from a fusion
warhead using today's technology?
I'm thinking of a concept for a fusion powerplant that harnesses the Orion
concept:
Have a vertical tube in a mountain, with a solenoid piston in a cylindrical
linear generator. Blow off pony fusion nukes under the solenoid, which blow it
several thousand feet up to the top of the shaft, generating power all the way
up, then back down as valves open to vent out the gasses, while an injector
places another pony fusion nuke at the bottom of the chamber.... an Internal
Combustion Fusion Motor
The only problem would be using pony nukes that were clean.
