I read "Engines of Creation"...that got me hooked on the idea...and I searched in vain for several years thereafter for more info. Speculative engineering has a very definite place. "Pep Squads" are not all bad. For some of us...the mathematically challenged...it's about all we have. And were sure not gonna get it from the mass media.
