Speech recog (was Re: Extropian Lurker Gets New 'Puter!Joins

I've been researching this recently. There are two new products out that
claim to provide connected-speech recognition, and a third from a VAR who
says they've got the offline dictation-later recognition scenario solved.

The two companies are Dragon Systems and IBM.

I'll post more in another message soon, late for work.

Critical point is noise floor of the sound card.

Current leader for s/n: Turtle Beach Pinnacle or Fiji.
Downside: Turtle Beach is a small company, sometimes has to
orphan products rather than write new drivers for them.

You can also check comp.speech newsgroup, it's buzzing.
