I am all for it. I recommend Lysander Spooner's book on the subject.
He asserts (and I agree) that unless the jury has full access to all
information, and full freedom to find guilty or acquit for any reason,
and judges not only the facts of the case, but the law and actions of
the government, then it is not trial by one's peers, but trial by the
state, and as such, bad.
