I've been lurking for a little while, and decided that it was time to step
on stage and be known. I'm a freshman undergraduate at MIT, and actually
just heard about extropy in late May or early June last Spring. I was
taking a genetics course and came across a reference to transhumanism when
I was researching a presentation on the ethics of genetic engineering. For
the next several days I spent all my free time first exploring several
transhumanism pages, then extropy.org. I had never expected to find such
an organized group of likeminded people! The short of it is that here I
am, and now that I've de-lurked I'll start replying to messages.
