Don't usually repost over my own msg's. Just to say i do not accept the
proposition
of the Monstrous Machine. It is truly a myth. I cannot image any
circumstances ( except
a deliberate attempt to create a "AI@Risk" ) under which AI's would be
manufactured
without practical means of control, even something as simple as a "kill
switch". I very much
expect the first AI's to be deliberately isolated from network and coms
access. Essentially
to be "raised" in solitary confinement, having contact only with the
researchers involved in
the project. I expect this kind of isolation to continue until practical
methods are found to
guarantee legal AI's benevolence, and co-operation.
