Indeed. I suspect that it's possible that many core extropian values
will never be realized in the real world. Perhaps it may be best to
consider how we might mitigate the anti-liberty effects. For example,
given the current high state of situational awareness among many
americans, some sort of security policy making use of that could be
presented as an alternative to ubiquitous law enforcement thru
state-controlled technological means. At least it would be more
humanized, localized and 'reasonable' such as 'Yeah, I know Jim smokes
pot but it's ok he's a good and responsible neighbor' versus a
computer's 'ALERT: THC molecules detected 234 Elm Street, autoprep of
SWAT team initiated, terrorist classification KINGPIN'
