I wish!

I have spent ridiculous amounts of time trying to convince friends to get
to know the people that they have racist hate for. My reasoning has always
been that if they get to know the person then they find out (always to
their great surprise) that they are simply people instead of mean or sneaky
or any of the other terrible characterisations racism projects.

And that was *before* the recent attack. Imagine the difficulty now.

One of the nice things about Will's post is the language it is couched in.
He speaks of it as almost a national obligation to befriend someone. Cool
stuff.

Cheers,

Q. What is the similarity between an elephant and a grape?
A. They are both purple... except for the elephant.
