Actually the Petronas towers held the title of worlds tallest for
less then a year. The same jackasses who somehow decided that it
was some how possible for an 82 story building to be "taller" than
110 story buildings revised the factors that determine this. Under
the new 5 criterion the Sears tower has three, the World Trade
Center 1 and the Petronas towers 1.

In light of recent events it may be difficult to fund tall building
projects for awhile.
