Of course. Those who would like to see public policy formed by logic,
rather than ancient mythology had better start planning yesterday for how to
deal with the theist threat. The "Christians" will almost certainly see any
attempt to create a super-intelligence as a harbinger of the apocalypse
(come to think of it, they might be right on that one), and they will do
*anything* to prevent its development.
