Not really. The reviewer didn't even get why the AI "David" almost
drowned his "real person" brother. I was an accident....David clung
to his "brother" when he was attacked by other children.

Yes, of course, the movie was emersed in "pop" Malthusianism, but
why not get the rest of it right? Like a local radio review who thought
the evolved robots at the end of the movie were "Space Aliens".
