I really really like that idea. As a stepping stone to more powerful AI, and as
a way station for testing natural selection in a digital environment, such a
project could also be used to breed *friendly* virtual critters. By that I mean
critters that actually *want* to be friendly. Good breeding makes good Darwin
machine intelligence.
