Looking at the Genome Sequencing and Technology conference
agenda (@www.tigr.org) for this week, it looks like we
"may" find out how many genes are needed for a plant
Tuesday night and how many genes are needed for a human
on Wed. morning. If so, you should hear it in the news
shortly thereafter...
If they do decide to keep it under wraps, its supposed
to be published sometime around October, probably in
the Science Genomics issue.
I'm excited... you should be too...
I always enjoyed the Andre Norton Witch World books, where
if you "know something's true name, it gave you power over it."
Knowing the number of genes in a genome is like that.
