You're right Robert, that Nature article is pretty damn neat. Multiwall nanotubes
are ideal for AFT tips, they're incredibly tough, if bent almost to a right angle they
spring right back with no damage done, and they're sensitive, just a small deflection
on a multiwall nanotubes causes a big change in electrical resistance. That last
property is great for sensing but no so great if you want to use them as a wire
interconnecting the components of a nanocomputer. And wires are important now
that we already have molecular switches. There is some indication that single
walled nanotubes would work better as a wire than the multiwalled variety, I hope so,
but if not all is not lost, we can always use a array of quantum dots.
