Online auction of scientific equipment.

Want to buy a second-hand test-tube? EinsteinsGarage may be just the
place for you. It is a new online public auction site for surplus and
discounted research and laboratory equipment, launched by Alchematrix,
Inc., an e-commerce subsidiary of Fisher Scientific International Inc.

According to Paul Montrone, chairman and chief executive officer of
Fisher Scientific International, EinsteinsGarage will offer
scientists, researchers, teachers, and hobbyists significant savings
on everything from test-tubes to spectrophotometers. The product
inventory of 12,000 items, worth around $8million, covers surplus,
obsolete and used products in the scientific research, safety, and
clinical supply markets.

As well as products, EinsteinsGarage offers services such as
warehousing product inventory and the repair and calibration of
laboratory equipment. Participation in the on-line auctions is free.
