Since the Dem's are kind enough to hold their bash in my backyard, I figure
I'll break out the rollerblades and vidcam to capture all the antics out on
the street. What with all the protests, counter-protests, demonstrations
and counter-demonstrations, and the LAPD not knowing how the hell to handle
the situation, it promises to be fun for the whole family.
If I happen to capture anything compelling, I'll throw up a website and post
it all there.
It's funny watching all the various groups getting ready for this fiasco.
What happened to the "good old" days when issues were compelling enough to
inspire folks to almost spontaneously show up and demonstrate?
Now protests are run just like political campaigns, with the media-savvy
protestors putting the correct political spin on the before and after media
commentary. They all have phalanxes of lawyers, consultants and even give
pre-protest training classes. So while the cops are taking classes on how
to deal with the demonstrators, the protestors are taking classes down the
block on how to deal with the cops. Somehow, it all seems so...sterile.
Anyhow, stay tuned. If I don't get arrested, or beaten too badly. I'll
give you the low down on all the antics.
