I watch around one movie per day on average, and I liked it. I think the people that didn't like it obviously had their hopes set way to high. This movie was not intended to be on the same level as a 2001, etc. The directors clearly stated in various interviews and such that they were simply intending to meld the best kung-fu/anime styles they could come up with into an American live action film. Nothing really more. I'm sure if they wanted to come up with some really super-intelligent story they could. So you need to enjoy it on that level as a simple action flick.
