Sure, nanotechnology could could realize the ultimate internal contradiction of capitallism. By reducing the marginal cost of production to the cost of the raw materials, nanotechnology (probably developed by capitalists) should make ownership of the means of production so widespread that true communism may become possible by means of open-source development of nanopatterns, and thorough recycling of matter.
