Cognitive therapy makes a lot of sense really, and I think it is useful for transhumanists to learn a bit about it. The basic idea is to find out what thought-patterns you have, and do something about the inefficient/destructive ones. Then you can of course coat it with jargon and religion like Hubbard did, but the basic ideas are the important bit.
