Ra, right on. There is the concept of the boutique workforce. That modern
technological society does not need a large percentage of highly intelligent
individuals but a certain critical number to full key jobs.
At least the evidence is that the members of the boutique workforce are getting
somewhat well paid. A term use for them is "Gold Collar Workers"

Too many might lead to political unrest.
