John K Clark praised Imhotep, and I gladly join in. He is one of those
rare universal geniuses that manage to combine several areas well -
beside being an architect/engineer he was also vizier and perhaps also
skilled in medicine (less evidence for that though). Other examples
might include Leonardo da Vinci (a bit lacking in the political arena,
but a great scientist/engineer/artist), Benjamin Franklin and
Archimedes.
The most interesting question is of course how to do to become as
great and general as them. Any ideas?
