According to what it says here:

"Tonight in AOL LIve: Join in the first ever inter-species chat with Koko the
Gorilla at 7 p.m. ET.

Koko the Gorilla, who has spent the last 25 years learning American Sign
Language, will appear live to take questions in celebration of Earth Day.

How, you ask? Dr. Francine "Penny" Patterson, who has been working with her
since Koko was a baby, will read her the questions in ASL and interpret her
answers. (Koko can read, believe it or not, but only a few words, so Penny
will need to interpret for her!)

Penny will also share her brilliant and path-breaking linguistic research
with Koko, and the Gorilla Foundation's
work to protect gorillas in their natural habitat and to create a gorilla
preserve on Maui, Hawaii. Don't be late, because Koko has a short attention
span and this event will only last a half-hour! To read more on Koko, go to
