Perhaps some sort of standing wave effect, where the various fields from
different sources all reinforce at one point and are too low in power to
cause effects at other locations. Something akin in principle to the 'gamma
knife' used to kill brain tumors with many beams of radiation while
subjecting surrounding tissues to low (relatively) doses?
