It is unlikely uploading would be feasible without the computing power
made possible by nanotechnology, the detailled neuroscientific
know-how about how the brain works that nanodevices could give us and
the development of a scanning process, where the so far only
theoretically feasible methods have all involved nanosystems. So we
will with high certainty develop nanotechnology a long while before
uploading becomes possible.
