It has been a little while since I've posted any poetry to the list;
this is partially due to my lack of writing, and partially due to the
not-initially-extropic content. Though this one isn't totally extropic, it
demonstrates the neo-romantic naturalistic idea that humans and science are
a part of nature.

The Holiest Anthem

If nature was God, I'd be religious:
Weath'ring the taunts of subtle Perfection;
Faith would be limitless and prestigious,
Praising the sun's daily resurrection.

The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost
Would be the waters, the sun and the sky,
The world --my Bible, the libelous host
To which no commandments ever apply.

The universe? heaven without a hell--
A utopia there to be explored,
With nary an end anyone could tell
And no commander...not a King or Lord.

Forever be baptised in fields of grass,
Eternally set to travel abroad;
This is my blood in the prodigal glass--
The bread of my flesh, if nature was God.
