Hmm, just something I noted (see Daniel Kershbaum's post for an aswer
to your question): we seem to talk a lot about different substances
on this list, but it is important to distinguish them from each
other. Nootropics are "smart drugs", drugs intended to boost mental
(cognitive) performance. Creatine is intended to boost physical
performance, a category I have not yet found any good name for
(doping is a bit charged and specific in scope, maybe somatotropic
drugs would work?). Then there are the psychotropic drugs (changes
the mind in general), and the life extension drugs. Are there any
more commonly discussed categories?
