I sincerely apologize. I thought I was describing the most basic aspects of
the story's premise and setting. It has been over a year since I saw the
film, and I didn't realize that any part of my description was not obvious
at the outset.
Of course with my heavy occult background, general paranoia, and love for
conspiracy theories, what I assumed was "obvious" may not have been. I
found this particular story to be contrived, predictable and unoriginal.
The overall theme is very common in occult literature. I enjoyed it for the
mood and tone of the experience, and not for any intellectual storyline.
