movie _pi_

Hi everyone, I've lurked for a couple days and decided to pinch in here.

_pi_ didn't necessarily show religion in a good light, so it was fine. But
it was so undeveloped that he found a 216-digit number which means anything
enlightening, regardless of what is "between the numbers". For me, the
punchline was "Once you lose scientific rigor, you are no longer a
mathematician, you're a numerologist." and that was coming from the
friendly antagonist. The same director did a much better job IMHO in _A
Requiem for a Dream_ released last fall, which does not deal with
math. Too few people understand math, and it's probably really hard to
make a movie involving it once one does. I wonder how _AI_ (the movie)
will turn out--is anyone here involved in that?

Deniz
