Last night NOVA had a 2 hour special, "Cracking the Code". It was
all about the decoding of the human genome.

Besides an excellent technical breakdown, it went to great lengths
to examine the future and moral and ethical aspects. It was
complete with portions of both "Gattaca" and "Star Trek" thrown in
for good measure.

There was also extensive coverage of people and their children
suffering from unfortunate genetic errors. I strongly recommend
checking your local listings.

There is going to be an upcoming NOVA/Frontline special on genetic
engineered foods titled perhaps inappropriately "Harvest of Fear".
