Aaron, I am not kidding. Please read "The Case for Mars" by Robert Zubrin. We could have our first people on Mars with existing technology within 10 years for a small fraction of Bill Gates money. Perhaps we could rename the planet to "Planet Gates" and give Microsoft certain rights in exchange.
It's a crime our species isn't already on Mars! We can do it!
