I actually have a related peeve which is the way some people keep trying to correct this. Of course you are right, but who cares? Obviously the Millenial celebrations are going to start on 1. Jan. 2000, not 2001.
People who understand your point already know it, those who don't will never get it. I am already sick of millenial celebrations. Please don't add to the angst by starting pointless threads!
