BOOK: Meaning of Money

I would like to recommend a book about a topic near and dear to many
hearts, namely, filthy lucre. It is by James Buchan and is titled "Frozen
Desire: The Meaning of Money". It is bit too liberal/PC for my delicate
sensibilities but the breadth and quality of scholarship that went into it
counterbalances that aspect. The original source material included is
worth it alone regardless of what you think of the author's
interpretations. Money's many meanings and complex history - philosophic,
religious, practical - are the topics. Very interesting.
