Others have responded to your misunderstanding of Julian Simon. On "Dynamic
Optimism" -- if you read my essay, you should understand that "dynamic
realism" is unnecessary since DO does not ask anyone to deny reality.
Optimism is not simply a neutral assessment of probability, but an attitude
and a commitment. Making a commitment to improve things also alters the
odds. Once you understand this, you should withdraw the unjustified slur
that you made by using the term "faithful". Faith doesn't mix at all with
pancritical rationalism.
