Translations from the Legalese

I knew translating from legal logic to commonsensical English was
a challenge, but now I have a new appreciation of the degree of
difficulty.

As a Southerner, an Indian, and a project manager, I have a tremendous
affinity for lost causes (the effects are multiplicative). I really
must work on this.

I don't have a dog either. My dog is trained to bark at lawyers. If he
bit you, he wasn't my dog. If we can settle for what my insurance
company is willing to pay, we can get out of here in time for lunch.

Sheesh :-)
