I'm surprised Lamarckianism hasn't come up on these threads (unless I
missed it....). Lamarckianism, the idea that someone can pass along
characteristics acquired in their lifetime to their offspring, has
never been proven by its proponents, yet it forms the basis for some
of the paranoid sensationalism surrounding the sheep cloning.
Rational statements debunking Lamarckianism are already being shouted
down by neo-Luddites who would rather trade in fear to further their
causes.
