How about humorous understatement? In the "Aquatic Ape" thread,
someone illustrated that trajectory calculation could evolve
without the behavior of throwing in arboreal primates, saying
something to the effect of "...missing the branch you leap for
is not adaptive to survival."

Makes the point rather well, don't you think?
