Really? I thought we were attacking the existence of the Singularity
link, particularly in very strong form. I came to extropian-like
thinking through Vinge and "True Names"; I doubt I'm alone in that, or
even rare. I've become more conservative since then; others have as
well, or never bought it in the first place. Cognitive science is of
great importance; so is whatever molecular manipulation we can get.
(Nanotechnology has been attacked as well.) But some of us think that
the Singularity is better advertising than philosophy.
