Which I reinterpret as meaning: We can argue over labels forever. Is it
Libertarian or libertarian, Extropian or extropian, Transhuman or
transhuman? But I think we all agree on the essential goals. We want more
freedom, more progress, more capability, more functionality. We want to end
suffering, end death, end disease, end warfare, end tyranny, end
restrictions on humanity!

We often can get bogged down in labels, or trying to figure out who thought
of what first. But while we are discussing all those questions, we often
forget how much we agree on everything. Even with all our disagreements on
this forum about guns, politics, the war on terrorism, etc., I think we
agree a lot more with each other than we would with anti-technology
Luddites, or anti-survival religious fanatics, or anti-freedom governments.
Even in our areas of strong disagreement, we actually are a lot closer in
our goals and visions of the future than 99% of the world.

This is something we need to remember in the coming year.

And by the way, Happy New Year! Keep discussing and searching for answers!
Never grow old! Never become boring! Do *something*!
