There was a mention on the recent television show "Mad About You"...a
cross-over from the show "Seinfeld" where Kramer explains about how he has
arranged to be frozen and even offers Paul some real Alcor literature.
There are many such one-off mentions in popular culture...usually for
comic purposes or to define the character as "weird".
The earliest I've found is an episode of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" where
Mary is dating an insurance agent who tries to sell her friend Phylis life
insurance. Phylis says no thanks, explaining how she and Lars have
arrange to be frozen. The insurance agent helpfully offers to arrange for
the payments to be waived while she is frozen.
Anyone find anything earlier?
