Subject: Journal of Ayn Rand Studies Call for Papers

The Journal of Ayn Rand Studies is a nonpartisan journal devoted to the
study of Ayn Rand and her times. The journal is not aligned with any
advocacy group, institute, or person. It welcomes papers from every
discipline and from a variety of interpretive and critical perspectives.
It aims to foster scholarly dialogue through a respectful exchange of
ideas. The journal is published semi-annually, in the fall and in the
spring.

Vol. 1, No. 2 will be out in several weeks; an announcement of its contents
will be made at the time of publication.

In the meanwhile, I'd like to extend this invitation to my colleagues to
consider submitting--to our double blind peer review process--scholarly
papers on any aspect of Rand's life, thought, and legacy. The deadline for
our next issue is June 1, 2000; those who would like to comment on any
articles from our first issue (Vol. 1, No. 1) have until April 1, 2000 to
submit their letters to the editor.

We welcome essays from any perspective -- right, left, or center -- and
from any discipline.

If you'd like to see a sample essay from the journal, point your browsers
to this on-line reprint of "The Rand Transcript" -- an examination (by
yours truly) of Rand's college coursework at the University of Leningrad:

Thus far, we are indexed in the MLA INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY, MLA
DIRECTORY OF PERIODICALS, POLITICAL SCIENCE ABSTRACTS, SOCIOLOGICAL
ABSTRACTS, and SOCIAL SERVICES ABSTRACTS -- with many more on the way.

Cheers,
Chris Matthew Sciabarra
