investment in bioinformatics

Friends,

It occurred to me that the tremendous flood of data arising out of the
analysis of the human and other genomes will present a huge data analysis
challenge. Just as software was the opportunity recognized and seized upon
by Bill Gates, so to the analysis of the genomic data will be the crucial
bridge between the new knowledge and its application. Bioinformatics is a
term applied to the extraction of usable information from the raw genomic
data. A list of Bioinformatics companies can be found at:

and I'm wondering how--for the purposes of identifying the best investment
candidates-- to mine this resource for the rising stars in the field.

Anyone care to suggest how to go about this?

                        Best, Jeff Davis
