As soon as I read this (thanks, Greg!) I sent
Frito-Lay an email:

Dear Frito-Lay representatives, I recently received an email forwarded to me, which asked people to write to your company and tell them 'how pleased we are' that you have decided against using GM plants. This sort of blind technophobia amazes me; it happens time and again throughout history, with people never really learning to accept changes with an open mind. This is the same sort of 'change is bad' attitude which sweeps the 'general public' with every major technological advance. Cars! Phones! Elevators! Probably even as far back as the wheel! I sincerely hope your company does not fall into the position of holding back great technological advances at the whim of a 'general public' for the most part entirely uneducated on the true facts of GM, who are filled with a fervor based entirely on speculation, misinformation, and media hype. Please consider what I have said, and thank you for your time. Sincerely, Ziana Astralos
