For Reason's sake, rename the threads...
I had to do some search <http://www.google.com/search?q=apotemnophilia>
to find out that "apotemnophilia" means self-amputation fetish.
Not really consistent with extropian dream of self-enhancement,
but I guess as any kind of "voluntary simplicity" gives a >H
dividual a chance to test alternative body configuration, while
increasing amount of space available to expansionists.
Non-acceptance of the practice, I guess, may be called
"apotemnophobia", which sounds like my favorite
"arachnohomophobia" - "fear of gay spiders" - another
close-minded attitude to harmless personal changes.
I think though that I would like to ask the persons making
body changes that I find revolting, to abstain from transmitting
evidence of these changes into my observation space (I own it,
right?).
