The earliest publication of this that I know of was in one of Spider
Robinson's Callahan's Bar stories- the Place never had the stereotypical
mirror behind the bar, but a wall with pithy comments graffito'ed on it.
"I intend to live forever or die trying" was on there- but for cryonicists
it can be changed to "I intend to live forever *even if* I have to die
trying!"
